Saturday, and Sunday Oct 28th, 29th

No karate happened this weekend. Various family needs superceded all chances of getting in even 15 minutes of "me" time. I didn't even have time to keep up the housework. My husband, and children are happy though, and for me that is what counts.

I had daydreams of catching a half hour of training here or there, but when reality hit, I put aside my hopes, and did what needed to be done.

Warm up

Chion Kata 6 times

Tsuki Sequence ( 20 reps each technique)
Uke Sequence ( 10 reps each)
Stance sequence once.

The only downside is that I had to keep my eyes open all around me as there was a group of little 4-6 year olds running around chasing each other. At one point they thought it would be fun to try to get as close to me as possible as I was swinging the Bo around. I knew that I could control the front half of the Bo, but I didn't have eyes at the back of my head, and I envisioned one of these little guys getting slammed by accident.

Kata: YES.. I did a GREAT practice session.

Kihon Sono Ichi, Ni, San 5 times each
Shiho Tsuki Ichi, Ni, San 5 times each
Taikyoku sono Ichi 5 times

This is not because I neglected training... but more that my training was different due to the Karate camp.

The past weekend

I was busy at Hoyukan Fall Karate camp in Independence, Missouri for the past weekend.

Yes, I did a good hour and a half of kata, mostly Pinans, some Shotokan, and Tsuki No Kata about 5 times.

My husband caught me warming up with my Bo staff, and made a video of it.

Last night I did a few kata..
Pinan Sono Ichi, Ni, San

But then the rest of the night focused on other training such as self defense, and arm locks. Like I said, I have to balance all of the demands of my training.
